We’re still reeling from the huge amount of support we got from Episode 2. Rich, Savvi, and I (Kendra) are so thankful for the supportive comments, messages, emails, everything. A huge thank you and internet hug goes out to every single person who reached out and shared similar experiences, as well. You are all so brave and you’re all part of the reason that this podcast was founded.
Today, we have released our third episode. While we had originally planed for all episodes going forward to include guests, Rich and I decided that we wanted to speak to a few pieces of feedback (read: criticism) that we received once Episode 2 was released.
Episode 3 includes a brief discussion about ways that we can heal the harm that is done when people in positions of power use their status to abuse others. We discuss our shared belief that those with platforms – bands, label owners, booking agents, venue owners, festival promoters, etc. – must use their amplified voices to #speakupforourscene in order to preserve the values which brought us to music in the first place.
