Sascha Altman DuBrul is a writer and mental health coach who came of age in the New York punk rock scene of the late ’80s and early ’90s. In this conversation, he speaks about his time in psychiatric hospitals and how those experiences led him to co-found The Icarus Project, a peer-based online mental health resource. They also discuss the concept of centered accountability and experiences while working toward their Master’s in Social Work among other topics.
