Born in Chapel Hill, NC Neill Kirby McMillan Jr. in 1957, Mojo Nixon blazed through everything he did. Starting in the early to mid-1980s, Mojo recorded five albums with Skid Roper before venturing out as a solo artist and with his band, The Toadliquors, recording an additional six albums plus releasing a live album and rarities collection. Nixon died on February 7, 2024, of a “cardiac event” while on the Outlaw Country Cruise, the morning after a rambunctious and rowdy performance and a hearty breakfast. He was 66.
