Feed the Scene Launches Fundraiser For House Ownership

If you know music, then you probably have heard of Feed the Scene. The project was started in 2011 by Baltimore resident Rachel Taft who had one simple goal: to feed and house touring musicians. While FTS has expanded and grown over the years, feeding and housing thousands of bands from countries all over the world, the Baltimore location always remained a home base. This is where you come in…

The below was taken from Feed the Scene’s GoFundMe:

Early morning July 3rd we were informed our landlord wanted to sell the FTS house effective immediately.  After living here for 8 years, the owners know how much we love it and how many people also consider this their home away from home. This house has welcomed over 1200 individual bands who have stayed here countless times from over 26 countries around the world in the last 7 years.

We have managed to get ourselves qualified for the mortgage and come to an agreement on a price and closing date, but now we need help raising money for part of the price the mortgage company won’t finance and the closing costs. Realistically, we need to raise closer to $50k, but I am working on a few personal loans to (hopefully) cover the difference (some generous supporters have already pledged to let us borrow money).

If we can pull this off, FTS will never have to move. You will always have a place to stay, plus, when we own the house, we can edit parts of it to work more efficiently for bands and the roommates living there.

If you can, please donate to Feed the Scene and help keep this amazing, longstanding labor of love running as long as humanly possible!
