Queens, NY shoegaze/grunge band Bummer Camp has released their sophomore album, entitled Fake My Death, via Trash Casual Records.
Originally formed as a solo loop-based project by frontman Eli Frank, Bummer Camp has evolved into a 4-piece band following early EP releases and the 2025 debut LP Stuck In A Dream. With Fake My Death, the group has aimed for a bigger, more focused record built around anxieties that surface and fade and the push-pull of wanting to disappear versus continuing on. The album was recorded in New Jersey at a farm-based studio called The Animal Farm, which brought a tighter timeline and a more intentional approach.
Along with the album’s release, Bummer Camp has released a music video for their track “Perfect Storm.” Band member Frank shared the following on the making of the video:
“We shot most of the footage in queens around Highland Park in Glendale. My good friend Ryon who used to play in several projects with me filmed it along with Preston Spurlock who filmed us during our show at gold sounds for the end shots. Preston also edited it and made the awesome animated parts.”

‘Wanna fake my death cause I can’t stomach anything’ is a line from the song “Perfect Storm” band member Eli says of the inspiration for the album:
“The desire to tune everything out to such a point that you just want to actually disappear forever is not going to help anything, especially yourself. You gotta take the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly, and roll with it. In my opinion, whether you’re being punched or hugged, feeling something is better than not feeling anything at all.”
