Boston and Phoenix melodic noise-rock duo Canyons and Locusts has released a new single today entitled “Anna Save a Life.” It’s the first dose of new music from the group since March’s The Red Angel EP, and it’s the attention-grabbing inaugural blast from Justin Keane and Amy Young’s forthcoming 2025 concept album, The Goal Gigolo.
Whether we realize it or not, we all have an Anna in our lives. She can be an inspiration, she can be a beacon of light, or she can be something else entirely, angelically equipped with a keen sense to be present and helpful when absolutely necessary. And one day, she may even save a life. But the details of who Anna is, or could be, are irrelevant. What matters is the person who needs her in their most dire hour.
Justin Keane shared the following about the new single:
“I feel like this one jumps out at you. It’s bracing, it’s kind of herky-jerky …I always like first singles that are surprising in some way, and I think this is a little bit punkier, and maybe even so very slightly new wave-ier, than anything we’ve done. But it’s also still unmistakably Canyons and Locusts.”
