Queens emo-pop band Ghost Tour recently released their new single “Performative.” The song is an existential emo anthem about looking back at past mistakes and resolving to be better. The song was recorded with Billy Mannino (Oso Oso, Macseal, Prince Daddy & The Hyena).
A pandemic bedroom project turned full-on emo pop trio, Ghost Tour’s songs channel the neurosis of Petey, the twinkly guitars of Origami Angel, and the enduring hooks of Jimmy Eat World into a series of bangers that are just the right mix of sunny and sad. Frontman Mike Andronico’s lyrics paint a hyper-specific picture of mid-30s existential dread that still finds joy, humor and a resolve to be better — all while bassist Bob Raymonda and drummer Michael “Beanie” Freyre keep the energy high with their tight, lively rhythm work.
