Earlier this month, Toronto, ONT-based folk-punk artist Kevin Murphy released a new full-length album, Fireweed. Produced by Chuck Coles and Adam Michael, it is a collection of songs written between late 2021 and 2023 that reflect both the social and political climate of the time, and a journey of personal growth and development in the wake of major life changes and self discovery.

Murphy, who is known for their energetic delivery and heartfelt socially conscious lyrics, shared the following about the new release:

“More than anything, Fireweed embraces the idea that we are responsible for how we shape the world around us and within us, what we allow to thrive in our presence, and who we choose to be in a culture too often defined by skewed priorities, dehumanizing policies, bigotry and violence.”
