Melbourne, Australia’s La Famiglia return for the first time after a two year hiatus with a brand new single entitled “Hath No Fury.” The last time the hardcore punk band released music was prior to the singer, Beth Seymour, coming out as transgender.
The new single is an anthem of trans rage in response to a lack of acceptance for queer people in society. The lyrics explore the judgement from society of coming out as a trans woman, and finally being in touch with your own anger after years of emotional repression. Beth howls with the power of Glenn Danzig, with tattoo-worthy epithets such as “hell hath no fury like a woman made, not born.” It is a taste of La Famiglia’s upcoming second album, Alphabet Mafia, which will be released later this year.
