Boston’s Lurid Purple Flowers has released a new single entitled “Addict.” The song is the debut track off the Alt-Rock band’s forthcoming EP release, No Sympathy, due out this September. The band combines dark Alt-Rock, Post-Punk, and Psych for a stirring and propulsive sound that is fueled by their intense live performances. No Sympathy will be their second release of 2022, following up this spring’s Mania EP.

The band had the following to say about the new single:

“We think ‘Addict’ reflects our commitment to increasing the styles under the Lurid Purple Flowers umbrella. We all listen to incredible different music on a day-to-day basis, and are definitely trying to widen the scope of this project beyond only one or two different styles. We began in a very different place last year, with different members and different ideas of where we wanted to take the band, and we think it has come together beautifully on this project.”
