Offend Your Friends Releases New Single “Light a Spark,” Off their First Album in 20 Years

Fond Du Lac, WI’s Offend Your Friends has released two songs off their upcoming album, Almost Didn’t Make It. The album, the band’s first release in two decades, will be released on Friday, March 27th. It was recorded by Dan Wolff and Colton Jean (Zach Bryan, JD McPherson, The Bends). The new released was mixed by Colton Jean and mastered by Justin Perkins at Mystery Room Mastering.

Never hardcore enough for the punk scene, too destructive for the ska circle, and hailing from a small city no one has ever given a damn about, Offend Your Friends has always done things their way. Almost Didn’t Make It is no exception. Is it more polished or poppier than their earlier efforts? Maybe, but the songs are arguably better. There’s less ska than before, but there’s still some ska—some upbeat and some dark.

A lot of life has been lived since George W. Bush invaded Iraq and the band was a bunch of disgruntled teenagers drinking cheap beers in a smoke-filled basement and cranking out gritty ska-core tunes. But time doesn’t always have to be the enemy.

The band has released two singles, “Skatt Stapp” and “Light a Spark.” Listen to them below and keep checking back for more from Offend Your Friends!
