Today, we’re SO very excited to be premiering a brand new single from Brooklyn/Queens-based four-piece Sadlands. The song is entitled “Flowers” and it will be featured on their debut EP which will be self-released on September 29th.
The band consists of members of Answering Machine, Choke Up, and Ellen and the Degenerates. The group blends grunge, folk/alternative, and pop punk into uptempo ear worms. Dueling vocalists and songwriters Samantha Campanile and Jess Lane are joined by Louis Rabeno on bass and Harley Cox on drums.
Earlier this year, Sadlands made a pilgrimage to Asbury Park – home of the beloved Bruce Springsteen – to record their debut EP with Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls. The four song album was mastered by Ian Farmer (and his cat, Onion) at The Metal Shop in Philadelphia, PA.
Vocalist Sam had the following to say about the new release:
“’Flowers’ is a song for those who struggle to heal old wounds. It’s about wanting more than anything to be able to have trust, and to connect with the people that they love. I wanted to write a song that everyone could wail along to, because we all have wounds that are worth healing. It was a blast getting the whole band up to the mic to sing some vocals on this track!”
Stream “Flowers” below and keep checking back for more from Sadlands!
