Buffalo-based melodic punk trio Skyway has released their second EP last month. Never Disappear is a collection of songs that are playful but sincere, covering topics like overcoming obstacles, getting older, and rekindling old friendships. It was recorded and mixed at GCR Audio in Buffalo, NY by Jay Zubricky (Taking Back Sunday, Every Time I Die, The Menzingers) and mastered at Dead Air Studios by Will Killingsworth.
Before heading into the studio, the band wasn’t sure which songs to record, so they made numerous practice space demos and shared these with friends and family. They voted on their favorite songs, and this became the track list for Never Disappear. The cover was designed by Skyway bass player, Andrew Burgess, using a photograph that John Mikulski (guitar/vocals) took while walking through a cemetery one afternoon. He saw a cherub monument on a grave and someone had put sunglasses on it. It was found art that was somber and a little bit goofy.
