Brooklyn-based indie rock outfit The Big Easy has released a new single entitled “Explanations vs. Reality.” The song is featured on the outfit’s upcoming album, (It’s No Secret) The Truth As Bad As the View), which will be released on August 2nd via Trash Casual Records. The lead single takes a deep dive into the anxieties of ruining new relationships and the difficulties of maintaining and nurturing connections with others.
The new album features ten songs which as like snapshots of someone coming to terms with their mistakes, facing up to the future, and finally learning to be comfortable. To record It’s No Secret, the duo holed up at Romero’s studio in central Jersey for two weeks in the dead of winter. This exodus from the bustle of Brooklyn was essential to the process. The album was mixed by New Jersey scene legend Erik Kase Romero(The Front Bottoms guitarist, recording engineer for Gaslight Anthem, The Bouncing Souls and many more).
