Today, we’re stoked to be premiering the new and upcoming album from The Burning Paris. The release, entitled Last Leaves, will officially be released this Friday via A Thousand Arms Music
The Massachusetts-based band split in the early ’00s and its members went on to play in On Fire, Eksi Ekso (Magic Bullet), and Lavinia (The Mylene Sheath) before reforming in 2021 with three new members.
Last Leaves draws inspiration from a variety of genres, including shoegaze, dream pop, neo-classical, and post-rock, The Burning Paris retains a dedicated following that reaches all corners of the globe.
Bandmember Nathan Schumaker shared the following about the new release:
“Last Leaves, while not a concept album per se, uses the over arching theme of grief and and sadness and finding hope where you least expect it. Last Leaves are in late fall in New England and as the majority of them fall away and disintegrate there’s always some that hold on longer, to perhaps some of hope of staying through the harsh winter and cold. They somehow remain hopeful when others have left or simply given up. I noticed the ones on one specific tree while going through a difficult time, and somehow their simple hope, they gave me some hope too.”
