Kelowna, BC-based heavy psychedelic electronic duo The Cavernous recently released a new album, entitled Please Hold. But there’s a catch. The album was released and can be accessed by calling a phone number, a toll-free phone number. There are no streaming links, no download codes.

Please Hold is a concept album which is actually a hold sequence consisting of false dial ups, automated operators, and other features of being on hold. The music spans from lo-fi beats, and washed out ambient electronica to eerie downtempo beats and progressive synth odysseys. It’s strange and unnerving at times.

The part art, part prank, completely unconventional album can only be reached by dialing 1-877-420-9159. So pencil in some time, throw in an airpod, and put yourself on hold.
