Time Thieves Premieres New Single “Cover My Ears”

Chicago-based indie-rock band Time Thieves has released the lead single, “Cover My Ears” off their upcoming EP. The new album will be titled Come Home and will be released on May 6th.

The band formed back in 2015 when Jonathan Pool (guitar, lead vocals) and Mike Oberlin (drums) discussed forming and power pop band after years of being stewards of  the Chicago punk scene. With the addition of Annie Saunders (bass, vocals) and Tim Reynolds (lead guitar, vocals) the band has a shared history of collectively more decades worth of midwestern punk in one band that is decidedly not punk.

Pool shared the following about the new single:

“‘Cover My Ears’ is about watching bad bands and bad people rise to the top of scenes and society itself — even with a complete lack of talent or sense of morality. It reflects the frustration of anyone who has had to stand in a crowded room and watch a band with no business being anywhere outside of a garage command the attention of anyone. It’s about turning to your friend and saying, ‘You ready?’ and then hastily getting the fuck out of there. May or may not be a metaphor!”
