Kendra Sheetz Boston-based self-described heavy-emo/soft-punk quartet Unseemlier has announced a brand new album titled I Have A Screw Loose, Somewhere, which is set to be released on June 13th via Sell The Heart Records. It is the follow up to their 2024 EP The Truth Is We Out Here, also released via Sell The Heart. The band has also released the first single off the new album, “Power Chord Career Criminal” is out now!
Singler/guitarist Mike Assatly shared the following about the song:
“I Wrote ‘Power Chord Career Criminal’ about leaning into the simpler side of things to make yourself feel joy. It can be hard to break down why you are feeling burnt out or depressed but retail therapy or a drastic change in your appearance are almost never the answer. It took me a long time to figure out that I need to slow the fuck down when I am not feeling up for something, and sometimes forcing yourself through it can just make it all worse. Take stock in the simple things that bring you joy and do those, or do nothing at all and stare at a wall, just don’t push yourself too hard”
The full-length is the band’s first, and was recorded at God City Studios in Massachusetts. It is available to pre-order now on 12″ Mystery Color vinyl and limited to only 100 copies
