London, Ontario-based photographer Allan Lewis has released a new single under his project name Van der Saar. The single, entitled “Truck Flattener,” will be featured on a new EP, Knights. Lewis writes and performs his music himself, playing each instrument and building each song from the ground up. The result is what he calls “welter-fi,” a sonic brew nearly two decades in the making that brings on feelings of nostalgia and hazy melancholy, yet remains hopeful.

Layering gritty guitars and controlled chaos into something both unfiltered and precise, ‘Truck Flattener’ captures Van der Saar’s essence – weaving noise experiments with quieter, introspective moments that strike with perfect timing.
