Mat Stokes Today, South Carolina post-punk band When I Say Jump has released their debut full-length, Separation Anxiety. The album is currently available on digital and physical platforms, including a limited run of tapes through Acrobat Unstable Records.
The band had the following to say about the album:
“Separation Anxiety was written in the framework of a former relationship where I was perpetuating a cycle of abuse, and my partner was strong enough to break it. They broke me, and forced me to confront what made me the way I was. I’ve come to understand the forces of the world often fracture and damage us in ways we can’t always understand. It alienates us from ourselves and others, and turns us into conduits in a cycle of pain. The album is a story about progression, becoming whole, and taking responsibility to move forward understanding the power you hold.”
