Kendra Sheetz The Protest punks in BÖNDBREAKR will be hitting the road with Austin’s pantsless and sock puppet wielding anti-heroes of ska and thrash Hans Gruber and the Die Hards on a tour to Ska Punk International and CTSka’s SPI Fest! The 20 day tour, presented by Angry Tooth Records, will take the bands from Austin to Connecticut and back
BÖNDBREAKR’s protest anthem, Progress and Change, was heavily influenced by “Let’s Drive Everywhere,” a satirical yet biting social commentary written by their tour mates Hans Gruber and the Die Hards.
Frontwoman G. Hayes-McCloskey said about the song:
“I like that they’re not ambivalent. That’s what I love the most about their music, their frankness and that’s what I wanted to express in our work. I knew I didn’t have a lot of time to really address specific things, but I needed to choose the right words so people understood Look around you. We live in this beautiful place and we are actively messing it up.”
