Annalies Tang Premieres Music Video for “Jasmine Tea”

Today, we’re premiering a brand new single and an accompanying music video from Annalies Tang and her ska and punk supergroup backing band (featuring members of Grey Matter, Poindexter, Non Binary, The Maxies, Odd Robot, A Billion Ernies, Decades, Jason Alarm, and She/Her/Hers).

Annalies Tang’s introduction to ska began while the band was passing demos across the United States from Massachusetts to Michigan to California. Her debut EP, Disappearing Act, happened in a very unorthodox way.

Drummer and guitarist Criss Steel had the following to say about the music video for “Jasmine Tea”:

“The vision with this video was to capture the raw, blue-collar rock n’ roll feeling of decades past, but with a more modern, empowering and positive focus.”

The video was filmed by Michael Phillips and directed by Criss Steel and Kevin Silveira (Simple Minded Symphony). It features Annalies athletically pole dancing throughout, reclaiming feminine strength and power through sexuality.

Check out the video for “Jasmine Tea” below. Disappearing Act will be released via Ska Punk International on January 31!
