Dad Hats Premieres New Video for “Super Bowl Sunday”

We’re excited to be premiering a brand new music video from Nashville Indie Punks Dad Hats. The band released their second full-length, Spill, on February 17 via Mind Over Matter Records. The video is for their song “Super Bowl Sunday,” which can be found on the new release.

The band had the following to say about the song:

“‘Super Bowl Sunday’ was the last song written for the record, this was the only song we didn’t have a full demo for before hitting the studio. The lyrics are a juxtaposition of two dates over a decade apart. One where you think you lose everything by thieves, and the second when you have a child and it makes you see things completely differently. Both dates just happened to be Super Bowl Sundays. A summary of the theme would be: ‘When you thought you lost everything, and then you were given everything.’”

And about the video itself:

“The video was based off vocalist Craig Turner’s idea – really he just wanted to some neat narrative video in a single shot. Drummer Joe Halby directed it and Kam Sheriff once again filmed it. It’s rad and single take videos are a lot harder than we thought they’d be.”
