Brooklyn-based quartet Early Riser has released a new single entitled “Beetlejuice.” The song will be featured on the upcoming album, Big Life, which will be released on October 11th. Produced by legendary indie rock producer John Agnello (Sonic Youth, Waxahatchee), Big Life takes elements of folk, pop-punk, and alt-rock backed by clever lyrics.
Singer Kiri Oliver shared the following:
“This is the first song I wrote for the album, six months into COVID-19 lockdown. So it was an extreme time, but I think the song also captures how it feels when we cut ourselves off from others and then wonder why we’re lonely.”
Early Riser worked on a music video for “Beetlejuice” with director Sam Veal, who says:
“I wanted to let the track speak for itself, but also visually juxtapose a wide, colorful world with framing that kept the band smaller. I wanted to show the effort it takes to take space and maintain it in the lives of others, as well as our own.”
