Two blocks from the Vatican, Feldspar poke at the idea of moral superiority. Formed in 2013, the Rome-based band named themselves after a mineral said to be worn by covert Roman clergy.
Today, they’re sharing a brand new single, “Good Kids,” which was recorded in New Jersey with Jon Markson (The Story So Far, One Step Closer) and Alan Day (Four Year Strong). The new track is is all about the moment when being “good” starts feeling more conditional than inherent, when the rules stop making sense. Musically, there’s a similar push-and-pull with Chris Villeneuve of Drug Church on drums giving the song a driving American rock style backbone, while vocalist Rick Zamurri’s scruffy edge collides with vocalist Anna Portman’s airy delivery.
