Kendra Sheetz London, UK’s KILL, THE ICON has released a new music video for their single “Deathwish.” The new song is featured on the band’s latest release, an EP entitled Your Anger Is Rational.
The song explores the creeping normality of fascism in Modern Britain and the different guises it takes. The music video was made using AI programs like Midjourney and Studio D-ID. It is a digital form of protest using AI technology. From concept to completion, the 212 second music video took a total of 83 hours to come to fruition.
Lead singer Nishant speaks about the inspiration behind the video:
“In light of recent anti-protest legislation, we’ve intended this video to be seen as an innovative form of protest. We are no longer allowed to take to the streets to exercise our right to protest, confident that peaceful protest has always been protected by law. It is now a matter of great uncertainty, and the new laws have deeply affected our ability to speak truth to power.”
