Brooklyn, NY’s Le Big Zero has released a new music video for their song “Toy.” The song is featured on the band’s latest release, an EP entitled At Arm’s Length, which was released on June 23rd via Mint 400 Records.
The new album is much more of a collaborative effort for the band, as it organically formed in their rehearsal space over the course of extended jams. The tracks were recorded in two halves at two different studios in Brooklyn – at Virtue and Vice with Rocky Gallo (Cigarettes After Sex, Cat Power, and Fiery Furnaces) and at The Creamery with Quinn McCarthy (Sleigh Bells, Solange, and Standing on the Corner).
Band member Michael Pasuit had the following to say about the new release:
“We knew the new two-guitar approach would wholly change the song-writing process and how songs would develop. We workshopped those ideas over time while Katie and I both worked on the lyrics… [It’s about] the concept of having your beliefs but needing to handle conversations with careful, roundabout investigation, with many of us learning way more than we bargained for with acquaintances we thought we knew.”
