Salt Lake City’s NADEZHDA has released a music video for two songs off their upcoming album, “Battery” and “Waste.” The duo of singles are the opening tracks off a five-track debut EP, Battery, out January 23rd. The band formed in 2022, blends grunge, punk, and stoner rock and is self-described as “hardcore’s Fleetwood Mac.”
“Waste” is a love letter to the basement dweller in all of us, desperately seeking to be seen and noticed, desperately sick of being perceived. It’s about having a window and a tether to the rest of the world in our pockets, and how we’ve never been so dissatisfied as now, having everything just a tap away.
The band describes the album as:
“… a record of life on the edge of economic collapse. Steeped in the real America – one of basement dwellers, the unsheltered, community college dropouts, and paranoid shut-ins – Battery expresses the deep insecurities we hope to chase away with one distraction or another.”
The video was directed by Tyson Whitney and Brighton Ballard. Check it out below and make sure to catch NADEZHDA at their record release show on January 27th, info below.
