South Carolina alt-rock artist Slow Funeral has recently released the official visualizer for the new single entitled “Give It To The Sea.” The project of Mary Norris, Slow Funeral blends ’90s alternative grit with the emotional storytelling of Americana. Her debut 2025 album Conditions of Trust resonated with listeners through its vivid explorations of poverty, queerness, identity, and resilience.

Written during one of the most difficult chapters of Norris’s life, “Give It To The Sea” reflects a period marked by financial instability, isolation, and the search for connection amid survival. Rather than recounting those experiences directly, it captures the emotional aftermath.

Norris shared:

“‘Give It To The Sea’ is about lying to yourself about how you really feel about someone. Saying you’re okay with only seeing them at night, but wanting something more.”
