Los Angeles-based one-man post-punk band The Sweet Kill has released a new single, “Forbidden,” along with an accompanying music video. Vancouver native Pete Mills will be releasing his new album entitled Nowhere this spring via Shadow Zone (USA) and Young & Cold Records (Germany). Nowhere will be The Sweet Kill’s sophomore LP and will be available on vinyl.
The project, which focuses on the more dark and gothic side of the genre, creates a down tempo atmosphere that brings the listener into a melancholic realm on the new single. The eerie video was directed by Ellen Hawk and delves into this mystery realm with gusto, taking us on a strange sojourn into the moonlight.
Describing “Forbidden” Mills said:
“Beneath the chilly glow of the moon, one might ponder, with a wry smile, the delicious conundrum of the forbidden. Ah, the thrill of diving into the depths of desire, to satiate an unnamable yearning! In the grand opera of life, some find their hearts drawn to the most enigmatic of duets, a dance shrouded in secrecy, away from the prying eyes of the world’s chorus”.
