The show of the night took place at the Vivarium in Milwaukee, WI, where I arrived just before the show began. The atmosphere was electric, filled with anticipation. I made my way to the front of the stage as the first band prepared to take the spotlight, and the crowd gathered in eager expectation.
The opening act, Six Foot Blonde, is a six-piece indie-rock band from Bloomington, IN. The group began their musical journey in college and is now fully dedicated to their craft. I had just started listening to their music, so I was especially excited to capture their performance. As they took the stage, the crowd quieted, and lead vocalist Julia Rusyniak greeted everyone with a bright smile. Her powerful, emotive vocals immediately captured the room. The band’s energy was contagious, grabbing the audience’s attention from the first note. Each member of the band had fantastic chemistry, making for an engaging and cohesive performance.
The main act, High Fade, hails from Edinburgh, Scotland. This trio blends funk, rock, and disco to create a distinctive sound all their own. While I wasn’t too familiar with their music beforehand, I was eager to see them perform. As soon as they stepped onto the stage, the room erupted in cheers. Frontman Harry Valentino walked out with a camera in hand and motioned for the crowd to raise their hands for a photo. With the audience’s hands in the air, he quickly snapped the shot before diving into the performance.
From the moment they started playing, I was struck by their undeniable stage presence. Dressed in stylish plaid kilts, they commanded the room with their charisma. Their energy was infectious, and the entire audience was singing along. Throughout the set, they maintained an interactive relationship with the crowd, keeping everyone engaged and energized. I thoroughly enjoyed capturing their performance and was truly impressed by their raw talent.
Overall, the night was an unforgettable experience—both entertaining and filled with incredible music.
