This past weekend was nothing short of magical—a blur of music, emotion, and nostalgia. As a photographer and longtime fan, I had the incredible opportunity to capture one of my favorite bands, Lord Huron, during their two sold-out shows. What followed was a weekend packed with unforgettable moments and moving performances that I’ll be reflecting on for a long time.
The night began with Indigo De Souza, an indie singer-songwriter from Asheville, North Carolina. She’s been gaining well-deserved attention with her latest album, Precipice, which effortlessly fuses dreamy textures with polished pop sensibilities. As someone who’s grown to deeply appreciate her music, I was especially eager to see her live.
When she stepped onto the stage, the crowd instinctively moved in closer, drawn by her presence. Indigo was joined by three other musicians, and together, they created a magnetic energy that pulsed through the venue. Each song felt deeply personal, with an emotional intensity that connected instantly with the audience. Her set was intimate, raw, and beautifully executed.
Then came the main event. Hailing from Los Angeles, Lord Huron took the stage—and transported us somewhere else entirely. I’ve been listening to them since high school, always captivated by their cinematic sound and poetic storytelling. As I made my way to the front to photograph the show, I noticed the eclectic outfits in the crowd and the theatrical stage setup. It looked more like the beginning of a play than a concert—and that only added to the excitement.
The band emerged with electrifying energy, each member taking their position as the anticipation grew. They opened with “Who Laughs Last”, one of the standout tracks from their new album The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1. Frontman Ben Schneider made a dramatic entrance, gliding across the stage and grabbing a suspended payphone—singing into it with passion as he locked eyes with the overhead camera, drawing everyone into the world they had created.
From start to finish, the set was filled with lush soundscapes, rich visuals, and an undeniable synergy between the band members. Their chemistry was infectious, and the crowd was completely immersed—singing, swaying, and soaking in every moment. The performance exceeded every expectation I had. Their stage presence was commanding, their connection with the audience was genuine, and the entire experience felt like stepping into a living, breathing story.
In the end, this weekend wasn’t just about seeing live music—it was about being part of something cinematic, emotional, and completely unforgettable. Check out my photos below:
