Hailing from Los Angeles, CA, Hole was formed in 1989 by singer/guitarist Courtney Love and guitarist Eric Erlandson. After a few failed attempts at finding a rhythm section, drummer Patty Schemel and bassist Kristen Pfaff joined the band. Melissa Auf der Maur replaced Pfaff after she died in 1994. During the mid and late-90s the band experienced mainstream success with their albums Live Through This in 1994 and Celebrity Skin in 1998. Hole has since broken up and reunited a few times and released one final album in 2010, Nobody’s Daughter.
