Seattle’s Bobby’s Oar has announced that they will be self-releasing their new EP, entitled Knots, on Friday, May 3rd. The band was started as solo endeavor by singer/guitarist Greg Hughes who moved from Florida to Seattle. Recently, however, Greg decided to add in a few of Seattle’s musical friendly faces from bands like Burn Burn Burn, Ol’ Doris, Moonraker, and more.
Here’s what Greg had to say about the new EP:
“This new Knots EP was an absolute blast to make. Bobby’s Oar is moving forward with a new lineup of homies (Greg Hughes, Adam France, Kyle Latham, Tyler Colton, Jonny Modes) and a new overall vibe from the last two releases. A lot of these songs reflect on the self-doubt of living in a city and being weighed down by your own thoughts. Just do you, try your best, and do your best to stay positive. If there are any takeaways from this EP and Bobby’s Oar in general, it’s that even when times get tough you gotta keep your chin up and stay positive. They’re songs that make you get out of bed in the morning.”
Today, we’re stoked to be premiering “Life Fights Back,” the first single from Knots. Give it a listen now, grab your copy of the EP via the band’s Bandcamp page on May 3rd, and keep checking back for more updates from Bobby’s Oar!
