Austin, TX’s Broken Gold has released a brand new single today entitled “Bad Days.” The song will be featured on the band’s upcoming album Wild Eyes, which will be released on May 3rd via hometown label Chicken Ranch Records. To bring Wild Eyes to life, Broken Gold enlisted acclaimed engineer Stuart Sikes (The Walkmen, Modest Mouse, The White Stripes) to track and mix the record, while the legendary Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins) provided the mastering polish.
“Bad Days” finds the band reflecting on past grinds and features local legend Alejandro Escovedo guesting on vocal duties alongside Broken Gold frontman Ian MacDougall, of Riverboat Gamblers fame.
MacDougall shared the following about the track. He explains how…
“some of those times felt miserable just spinning my wheels on tour, failed relationships, insane circumstances you find yourself in. Looking back now, those were some of the best times of my life and I was with my brothers in my band or crew the entire time… It’s hard to have perspective when you’re in the middle of living your life.”
