Kendra Sheetz Earlier this week, we premiered a new single and video from Chicago’s Ghost Forest. Today, we’re bringing you a premiere stream of their debut self-titled debut album which will be digitally released tomorrow, Friday, December 9th via Rot Studios with vinyl to follow in 2023.
The album was originally planned as a 2020 release, but the pandemic put a hold on production. With some help from Joe Shanahan (founder of Chicago venue The Metro), Ghost Forest was able to start recording and tracked drums, and later finished the rest at Rot Shop in Chicago. The album was produced and engineered by Justin Yates and mastered by Doug McBride of Gravity Studios (Veruca Salt, Smashing Pumpkins).

If you’re in the Chicagoland area, the band is playing their record release show on Sunday, December 11th at Empty Bottle in Chicago with Salvation, Masonic Wave, and Something Is Waiting and is also playing on December 30th at Reggies Rock Club with Interesting Bricks, Conan Neutron & The Secret Friends, and Fresh Hell!
