Dothan, Alabama punk band Ghosts Among the Pines has returned to unveil a new single entitled “The Life in Relief” along with an accompanying music video. Landing like a gut punch, the song explores the quiet, internal battles that so often go unseen, offering an intimate and sobering portrait of someone navigating severe depression and suicidal ideation. Yet within its weight lies a crucial message: even in the darkest moments, no one is truly alone.
Vocalist Michael (Sully) Sullivan shared the following about the new release:
“It’s the song that hurt the most to write. But it’s also the most cathartic. This is the one people reach out to me about, telling me how deeply it connects with them.”
The accompanying music video amplifies that message, serving as a heartfelt tribute to the band’s fans, friends, and families. Sully continues:
“Everyone I’ve shown it to tears up. It’s incredibly important to me that people understand they’re not alone and that help is out there. That’s exactly what we set out to do with this video.”
