Seattle-based pop punk band Hutchie has released a brand new EP today entitled The Falcon Sessions. The new album consists of four tracks which were recorded at Portland, Oregon’s Falcon Studios (The Dandy Warhols, Pink Martini).
The idea for the session came about when the band was approached by producer/engineer Jesse Payne (Bridge City Sinners). Jess had heard the band play live and expressed the desire to capture some of the more country elements of their sound.
Singer/Guitarist Michelle Pannell had the following to say:
“I’m just as much of a walking trainwreck as I am a serious songwriter – I really tried to capture both in these songs. Imagine your most messy, booze-fueled night out on the town combined with the dreamy innocence of Riff Randall in Rock n’ Roll High School and you’ve pretty much got the mood of this album. They’re not your average love songs – they’re clumsy, painfully honest and flirty as hell.”
