Sunshine Riot Streams New EP ‘Loud, Bright and Violent’

Boston Alt-Grunge band Sunshine Riot will be officially be releasing their new EP, entitled Loud, Bright and Violent, this Friday, April 21st. The four song album was recorded last Fall in Chicago at Electrical Audio with the legendary Steve Albini.

Sunshine Riot released three singles off the EP since January. The track list is completed by the fourth song, “Man on the TV,” which was inspired by Sunshine Riot’s life on the road and inability to relate to the various news programs they’d watch in airports, hotels, and other places while waiting to get back on the stage.

Band members Jonny Orton had the following to say about the upcoming release:

“I’m not sure we’re ever trying to make a uniform statement with any record… we just do the best we can to find some songs that we hope folks will enjoy. That said, I suppose we’re saying ‘Sunshine Riot ain’t dead yet and our distortion pedals still work.’ We contribute to feel awfully lucky to still be making music together. Been a weird few years, in the music world and beyond, so it feels pretty darn good to put this one out.”
