The Applicators, the queens of Texas Pop Punk, are back with a new single entitled “Sound Of Cars.” Recorded at The Bubble Studios in Austin by Chris “Frenchie” Smith, “Sound Of Cars” features a tight driving beat by drummer Katy Corser, and powerful interplay between the guitars and bass from Erica Zamora, Erica “EFlo” Flores, and Kristina Willhite. Pulling it all together is the unforgettable vocals of Sabrina Worthington.
Worthington said the following about the new single:
“I came up with the lyrics of sound of cars in a dream. To me it’s a song about being high up on a rooftop looking down at yourself and just respecting the journey no matter how messy it is.”
Originally formed in January 1999 in Austin, TX., The Applicators quickly made a name for themselves touring nationally with bands like Bad Religion, Circle Jerks, Epoxies, and more. In their first new track since 2015’s “Scandal,” “Sound of Cars” channels their inner 80s cool and the band has created the perfect nighttime cruising theme song.
