Boston alt-rock psych-grunge band The Rupert Selection has released a new single entitled “Taking Turns.” The new song is a follow up to last month’s release “I Saw God,” and will be featured on the band’s forthcoming album, out later this year.
Lyrically, the track centers around being lost in the void, an out-of-body mental experience spawned by drug-induced anxiety. “Taking Turns” was produced by Brian Charles at Mad Oak Studios in Allston.
Band member Reilly Somach had the following to say about the new single:
“This song definitely continues the heavier musical path we’ve been on. The theme of this album was definitely to make things bigger, heavier, but also emphasize we’re a three-piece. Trying to do more with less. Keeping things simple and not overthinking.”
