Kendra Sheetz Upstate, NY’s Basic Bitches has released a brand new music video for their song “Start the World.” The Riot Grrrl Rock ‘n’ Roll band has also announced the releasing of their new album, It Doesn’t Matter If It’s Cool, out April 7th!
The video was directed by the band themselves and inspired by the classic documentary Grey Gardens (1975). The song describes the desire to return to normalcy after the solitude of COVID lockdowns and the video depicts band members Naomi Scott and Krystal Grow as Big Edie and Little Edie Bouvier Beale, recreating scenes from Grey Gardens, perhaps the ultimate story of two women who could do with leaving the house once in a while.
