Brody and the Grodies Releases Debut Video from New EP ‘Mistakes Were Mad’

In a newly released video, Seattle-based band Brody and the Grodies covers a song by The Spits, “Let Us Play Your Party,” while scenes from an underground B-movie roll by. This is the debut video release from the band’s new EP Mistakes Were Mad, the follow-up to last year’s Went to the Bar.

The new EP has eight tracks of lofi garage punk that sounds like it was played through a blown-out speaker.  These songs have faster tempos and shorter running times but the Grodies’ so-called “humor” remains on display with lyrics about mutants, aliens, and sewer clogs. “Let Us Play Your Party” is the opener and aims to convince listeners to do otherwise. Later on there’s the unhinged track “Little Green Men,” where singer Brody Grody screams, “gotta gotta get ‘em out of my hair.” The weirdness includes album art that makes an homage to Dr. Strangelove.

With this new release, the band that only formed to get free beer adds another ridiculous chapter. Check out the music video for The Spits cover below and keep checking back for more from Brody and the Grodies!
