It’s been awhile since PNW’s Storm Boy shared some new music. The band recently finished recording new music with Scot Michael at Titan Recording Studio (which maaay be part of an upcoming album to be released in early 2026).
the band recently released a brand new single, and the first track from these recent sessions, “In the Shadows of Fort Reno.” So named because it reminded songwriter Storm Boys Chas Roberts of Early Fugazi, who he would watch most summers at Fort Reno Park while growing up in the Washington, D.C. area.
“In the Shadows of Fort Reno” is a fist-raiser speaking to class struggle and the challenges of finding security in Trump’s America. It builds on the pounding, percussive foundation of drummer Jeremy Anderson and bassist Kuba Bednarek. Guitarist/Vocalist Charli Beaumont weaves in with plaintive Kim Deal-style softness in stark contrast to Chas’ fire and brimstone fury. However, amidst all this power, Storm Boy still manages to craft an ass-shaking, fist-raising banger that’s as at home on the dive bar jukebox as it is soundtracking the revolution.
The accompanying was shot at Wild Child in Olympia, WA by renowned punk photographer I_AM_REP and cut by Storm Boy Chas Roberts. Check it out below!
