Toronto, ONT-based band Streets To Ourselves has release a music video for the fourth single off their upcoming sophomore album. The song, entitled “Sad Realization,” is a catchy pop-punk track produced by Sam Guaiana (Silverstein, Bearings, Intervals, Between You & Me) and mastered by Mike Kalajian (All Time Low, Neck Deep, Hot Mulligan, New Found Glory).
Vocalist and Guitarist Daniel Peachy shared the following about the song:
“’Sad Realization’ is about the demise of the group of friends I grew up with. Sometime around our late 20s and early 30s my friends started getting married, having children, and a few of them moved abroad. Nostalgia is a powerful sentiment, and at times I absolutely yearn for how things used to be when I was younger. However it would be very naive of me to have hope that things will go back to the way they were with my friends.
My intention in writing this song was to celebrate my former friend group while also trying to find a way to accept the fact that those days are gone and they’re not coming back. It’s a fond farewell to the days of yesteryear. Writing, recording, as well as performing this song live has been cathartic for me, and I’ve actually found closure about losing touch with the people who I used to consider my closest friends. My hope is that Sad Realization will help others who have been through a similar experience in their own lives.”
