Los Angeles-based punk band Sweet Gloom has released a brand new single, entitled “Lips,” along with an accompanying music video. The song will be featured on the band’s sophomore album, No Love Lost, out August 21 via Sneak Dog Records.
“Lips” is the oldest song on the record; it captures the ugly, disorienting guilt that can linger after a relationship ends. It’s about moving on while still feeling like you’re betraying someone, even though you’re no longer together.
Bandmember Jaake Margo shared the following:
“This song is about reckoning with the fact that you possibly ain’t shit – or more so, that you’re the wrong person for the person you love. It’s about realizing you can’t ever be something you’re not, no matter how hard you try. Ehh, maybe it’s just about feeling awful. I feel awful all the time.”
