Minneapolis-based band The Von Tramps has released a new music video for their song “2AM.” The new track will be featured on the band’s upcoming sophomore album, GO, which will be released in March via SBAM Records. You can pre-order the album today!

“2AM” is a song about disconnecting from a repetitive pattern of falling in love with the wrong person. Focusing on the nature of the mantra “Nothing good happens after 2AM,” the late phone call became a key piece of the songwriting and the video.

Band member Jenna Enemy had the following to say about the release:

“I remember we used to have a corded phone in our house and I miss how you could hang up a call by slamming it down on the base. I started playing with this old rotary phone I have in my house and decided that would be such a cool piece to the video. In this video we see each member filmed in a separate room with their own rotary phone trying to escape a repetitive pattern by hanging up when it calls.”

The group chose to shoot the video with a unique vintage theme in an original 1960s pool house. The band says the coolest part during filming was seeing each room become a character itself with very separate and distinctive looks. There’s also a slight nod to the zaniest bands of yesteryear, like The Monkees, during a scene involving the girls floating on a giant mattress in the middle of an indoor pool. In true Von Tramps fashion the video was produced, shot and edited by themselves.
