Vermont-based band Vallory Falls has released their new single, a poppy emo tune with attitude entitled “Want Me Dead.” Sarcastic and catchy, the new track portrays a relationship’s end and the messy feelings that follow. The song is the second single off the Vallory Falls’ upcoming full-length entitled To Save You, which will be released in June.
“Want Me Dead” became a staple of Vallory Falls’ live shows prior to its official release. The song came together as the band’s lineup solidified over the past two years, proving the group is greater than the sum of its parts.
Singer/Guitarist Tristan Gilliss explained the feelings behind the new son:
“‘Want Me Dead’ evolved from a dream I had about an old friend a couple years ago. We all have that one friend who, for one reason or another, drifts apart from you in life. In the dream, they said something like they didn’t care if I was, or that they wished I was, dead. The darkest parts of my brain wanted some sort of closure while at the same time being completely overcome with apathy. So, it’s about taking that feeling and owning it… the feeling of being left in total disregard, getting angry, then just letting it go.”
Vallory Falls shot their debut music video for the track, depicting the band playing a Halloween party where a concert-goer meets his dream girl at the rock show. There’s something mysterious about her though, as supernatural elements take over the night.
