Our guest this week is Jeff Dean, and we’re psyched to have him on the show. Jeff is one of those musicians that just cannot seem to sit still for too long. He’s a current member of the following bands: Dead Ending, Airstream Futures, Heavy Seas, Her Head’s On Fire, All Eyes West, Tight Night, and Moral Mazes… phew.
He is also an alumni of many other bands, including the likes of The Bomb and Noise By Numbers. As he points out in this episode, it’s just something that feels natural to him to have so much going on, something that many musicians would struggle to juggle (hahaha, struggle juggle – new Ska band???).
On top of being a busy musician, Jeff Dean is also a recording and mixing engineer, working with a ton of rad bands over the years, including Typesetter, Wet Tropics, and more. He is also active in the skateboard scene, having spent time in his younger years as a sponsored member of several teams, which we discuss in the episode.
We talk about his musical timeline, a bit about his love of recording, and we of course dig into some bands that he thinks need to be on your radar, as well as his 5 desert island album pics.
There is also a song/video from All Eyes West at the end of the podcast, so stay tuned for that.
