From the desert heat of Arizona comes The Venomous Pinks, our guests this week. The three-piece Punk band has been a staple in the Phoenix scene for many years, and through a few lineup changes, is currently made up of Drea, Gaby, and Cassie.
The band recently released a brand new live EP, Based on a True Story, which was recorded during a tour to the Pacific Northwest with the folks at Bridge City Sessions. The album is a fantastic representation of what this band is all about with its raw energy, sensible hooks, and urgency. Their most recent studio album, a 7-inch titled I Want You, is available via the band or Die Laughing Records.
The Venomous Pinks have seen their star rising over the last few years, having made appearances at Punk Rock Bowling, Rebellion, and even as guests at a Bernie Sanders rally in their home state (woah!!).
During our episode we talk about the history of the band and detail their latest releases. We find out the origin of their name and dig into some of the other projects that the individual members have going on. We of course also find out about some other bands that they think you should check out, and what their 5 desert island albums would be. There is also a video/song from the band at the end of the podcast, so stay tuned for that
